Museum of the University of Latvia

The human pathology collection of the Museum of the University of Latvia provides students and medical residents of the university’s Medical Faculty with visual aids: macro and micro specimens, moulages and placards that reflect the most diverse pathological changes in the human body at macro and micro levels.

At the museum, everyone can learn about the different pathologies of the human heart and blood vessels, liver, kidneys, brain, skin, intestines and other localised pathologies, examine macro specimens of human embryos and foetuses at various stages of development, inspect a wonderfully preserved collection of micro specimens from 1897 and trace the biographies of leading pathologists.
