Rainis and Aspazija House

The Rainis and Aspazija House is one of the several museums dedicated to Rainis and Aspazija. Here, visitors can discover the environment where Rainis and Aspazija lived during the second half of the 1920s, Aspazija – until 1933.

The house keeps memories of the visible, public side of the poets’ lives – after returning from 14 years of absence in Switzerland, they found themselves at the heart of Latvia’s cultural and political life. The apartment has been restored and arranged based on historical photographs, documentaries and the poets’ diaries, with original artefacts stored at the museum.

The museum has a unique library of Rainis and Aspazija, which the poets wanted to be made available for public viewing and research on these very premises.

The museum is a structural unit of the Memorial Museum Association.
