Rainis and Aspazija Summer House
The Rainis and Aspazija Summer House museum is dedicated to two distinguished figures in Latvian culture. Rainis bought the summer house in Majori in the fall of 1926. From 1927 to 1929, the poet used it for both work and recreation.
The “Me and You” display was created by museum specialists in cooperation with H2E design studio. It is dedicated to the heights of passion between Rainis and Aspazija and their peak literary careers. The display begins with both poets’ first meeting and concludes with Rainis’s death. It is structured across two lines: the horizontal of life and the vertical of writing. Strength and beauty. And, above all, love.
Not less interesting are the restored residential spaces of both poets – the upper floors of the cottage and the garden house.
The museum is a structural unit of the Memorial Museum Association.
