Rainis Museum “Tadenava”

Rainis’s birthplace, Tadenava, is the cradle of his philosophy of sun and love. The motif of the sun plays the leading role in the display created by museum specialists in cooperation with Inese Zandere and H2E Design Studio. The sun, which travels the sky all day long, guides museum visitors around Tadenava.

Following a major renovation of the museum (2016), the residential house offers a new display with elements of play, where visitors can explore Rainis’s literary heritage through interactive games. It also reveals several scenes from his childhood and illuminates the roles of the poet’s father Krišjānis, mother Dārta and sister Līze in his childhood universe.

Visiting the museum will be an emotional and insightful adventure for all generations.

The museum is a structural unit of the Memorial Museum Association.
