Vilis Plūdons Museum

In the residential building of the museum, visitors can explore a thematic display about the poet’s life and writing to learn about his background and creativity. In the renovated granary and cattle barn, the museum offers another display, “The Farm of Lejnieki”, about traditional farming methods on a Semigallian farm in the 1920s-1930s. The younger visitors should enjoy “The Rabbit Bath” display that features characters from the author’s famous nursery rhyme. In addition, visitors can explore the Plūdons Walking Trail.

Museum specialists offer a variety of educational programmes focused on the poet’s persona and his literary heritage.

Visitors can learn to celebrate traditional festivals by participating in thematic events organised on Vernal equinox, Bread Day, All Hallows’ Eve and the winter solstice.
