Lin Zexu Memorial Museum of Macao

The Lin Zexu Memorial Museum of Macao commemorates the visit of imperial commissioner Lin Zexu to Macao on September 3, 1839, during Emperor Daoguang's reign. His mission aimed to enforce the opium trade prohibition and secure Portuguese neutrality amid the conflict between Britain and China that would trigger the Opium War. The museum features a photographic display bearing witness to that highly tense period in the history of China.
