City Gallery Wellington

City Gallery Wellington Te Whare Toi is one of New Zealand's leading contemporary art spaces, presenting fresh exhibitions from leading New Zealand and international artists. From small beginnings on Victoria Street it grew into a dynamic creative presence in the capital, occupying its Te Ngākau Civic Square home for thirty years. While the building is being earthquake-strengthened and upgraded as part of the Te Ngākau Civic Precinct restoration, the gallery continues to programme off-site, with a planned return in 2026 marked by a major Cornelia Parker exhibition.
