Ferrymead Heritage Park
Ferrymead Heritage Park is Christchurch's premier living-history museum, recreating life in early 1900s New Zealand around an Edwardian township with restored cottages, a schoolhouse, a church and period businesses. The park stands on the route of New Zealand's first railway, opened in 1863 between Ferrymead and central Christchurch, and houses a wide range of heritage exhibitions run by volunteer societies — including trains and trams, fire engines, aeroplanes, tractors and classic cars, printing and telegraph history, photography and model railways.
