The GNS Science fossil collection is the most extensive fossil collection in New Zealand and includes collections made over 130 years by amateurs and professionals within and outside GNS Science and its predecessor the NZ Geological Survey. GNS Science has developed over many decades a policy to make available, wherever possible, its fossil specimens for scientific study.
