McGregor Museum
The McGregor Museum in Kimberley is the leading museum complex of the Northern Cape, South Africa, officially founded on 24 September 1907 thanks to a donation from Mrs McGregor, widow of Alexander McGregor, a former mayor of Kimberley. The museum researches and conserves the natural and cultural history and diversity of the Northern Cape, operating through departments of anthropology, archaeology, botany, display, education, history, and zoology. It oversees a network of satellite museums and sites including the Duggan-Cronin Gallery, Dunluce House Museum, Magersfontein Battlefield Museum, Pioneers of Aviation Museum, Rudd House Museum, Wildebeest Kuil Rock Art Centre, and Wonderwerk Cave, as well as regional museums in Calvinia, Kalahari-Oranje, and Victoria West.
