Casa d'Areny-Plandolit is one of the most emblematic museums in the country. The manor house dates from the 17th century, but most of the structures of the building are from the middle of the 19th century, reflecting the differences with the rest of Andorran society. The house was inhabited until the 1950s and was bought by the Consell General in 1972 to become a museum, which opened in 1984.
